What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and deeply relaxation.. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life forceenergy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”

Our body is composed not only of physical elements such as muscles, bones, nerves, arteries, organs, glands, etc.; it also has a subtle energy system through which ‘life force energy’ flows. This subtle energy system is composed of energy ‘bodies’ which surround our physical body and assist us in processing our thoughts and emotions. The energy bodies have energy centers called chakras, which work somewhat like valves that allow life force to circulate through the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. We also have energy meridians and nadas. These are like rivers, or streams which carry our life force energy throughout our physical body, to nourish us and assist in balancing our body’s systems and functions.

Our physical body is alive because of the ‘life force energy’ that is flowing though it. If our ‘life force’ is low or blocked, we are more likely to get sick, but if it is high and free flowing, we more easily maintain health and a feeling of well-being. One thing that disrupts and weakens the flow of ‘life force energy’ is stress. Stress is often caused by conflicting thoughts and feelings that get lodged in one’s subtle energy system. These include fear, worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, etc. Medical research has determined that continual stress can block the body’s natural ability to repair, regenerate and protect itself. The American Institute of Stress estimates that 75%-95% of all visits to doctors are the results of reaction to stress. The effects of unreleased stress range from minor aches to major health concerns, such as heart disease, digestive disorders, respiratory and skin problems.

Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional effects of unreleased stress. It gently and effectively opens blocked meridians, nadas and chakras, and clears the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace. www.Reiki.org

The unhealthy spirit can also make an unhealthy conditions worse and more difficult to heal.
Reiki Energy can be used to release

Who is Reiki for:

Reiki is gentle energy is easily adapted to most medical conditions and may be used safely by people of all ages including the newborn, pregnant mothers, surgical patients, the frail and elderly, disabled people in any situation.

Babies love Reiki. It is very healthy for them. Do not worry about it being too strong. Reiki automatically adjusts to what the baby needs.
Animals love Reiki too. They seem to have a natural understanding of what Reiki is and its benefits. Once a pet has received a Reiki treatment, they will often let you know that they want more. Plants also respond well to Reiki.

Side effects from a Reiki treatment:

Most of the time a person will feel relaxed and uplifted by a Reiki treatment. However, sometimes a person will have what is called a healing crisis. As a person’s vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released into the blood stream to be filtered by the liver and kidneys and removed from the system. When this happens, sometimes a person can get a headache or stomach ache or feel weak. If this happens, it is a good idea to drink more water, eat lighter meals and get more rest. The body is cleansing as part of the healing process so this is a good sign.

Reiki linage
Reiki lineage refers to the line of Reiki Masters that leads to the student. For traditional Reiki the line begins with Mikao Usui, and continues with one of his Reiki Masters, and then to one of theirs and so it continues. For a healing system to be called Reiki and be recognized as such, the lineage must trace back to Mikao Usui.

Yasemin’s linage is very close to Dr Mikao Usui, there are just six teachers before her, which means that the reiki energy Yasemin channels and teaches is very close to the original teachings and energy of Dr Mikao Usui the founder of Reiki.

While I have a chance I would like to thank Mr. Miguel Chavez for his mentorship and guidance throughout my learning journey from Reiki Level1 to Reiki Master Degree. I feel very lucky to have met Miguel Chavez and have the opportunity to learn Reiki from his inspiring and excellent guidance. Thank you Miguel…
